Look at me, look at me!
Mardi Gras by eccentricleartiste featuring floral shorts
I was talking to a friend and she mentioned how she’s missing Mardi Gras for the second time for two consecutive years, and how she makes up for it by going to Sinulog this year (which btw, she missed last year for the first time). I’m not familiar with Mardi Gras, but I know what it stands for. I asked more about it and all I know is that it’s colorful. Violets, greens, yellows. Prints. This set is inspired by the Mardi Gras version in my head. Is it….wrong? Tell me. I built it up this way. *laughs*

I’m on to you, S/S by eccentricleartiste featuring pleated shorts
I’m deeply engrossed with Spring even if we don’t have it here in Manila but we have Summer, which is usually side by side with Spring so that’s close enough. ;)

I’m hooked on pinks and neutrals; I’m not sure where I got the influence but I always find beige and pink really neat and easy on the eyes. Draw inspiration from this set when you want to feel and look relaxed without looking bland. These are still perfect for the weather. Notice how it’s really cold at night? It’s as if Christmas got delayed! *laughs*

Black and white 1 by eccentricleartiste featuring long sleeve button down shirtsLook at me, look at me! #5
I was asked to put up simple, classic, black and white outfits which shouldn’t appear too young or too old. I was thinking of timeless looks while on Polyvore and this is what I came up with. After finishing all 4 looks, I looked at them collectively and realized that I can possibly wear all of these (and you can, too!) based on my prefered style. I swear I was thinking of someone else while styling! So here’s my first set of B&W.(c) Fashion Firewoman

Fashion 101: What to wear on the first day of school
First day jitter can be a pain— new faces, new surroundings- everything’s so confusing! One thing you shouldn’t fear is dressing up. Here’s a quick personal tip from me: be simple yet memorable. I made a collage of outfits using a cropped top for each look. They say first impressions last and you only have one first day of school so you better do your best in creating a lasting impression. ;)
Here are a few tips off the top of my head:
Don’t wear heels. Oxfords and ballet flats are apt. It’s your first day in college, not at work.
Wear something neutral. In this case, I chose to pair each look with a brown shade. Brown is a very good color.
Don’t wear anything too bright/colorful. It’s good to be little miss sunshine but you can do that by letting your personality shine, not your outfit.
I’d love to hear about your first day, tell me all about it. I’d love to hear your stories! :)

Look at me, look at me! #4
While making this look, I was strictly looking for pieces that mothers would love to see on their little boy’s girl. Guys: to save up this Valentine’s, whip up something both your girlfriend and mother would love and stay home. Girls: this outfit would surely win over your beau’s mother.

P.S. This post was inspired by my friend Tran (who has motherly taste, I kid).
